Houston Hurricanes FC’s patience finally pays off as they get their man. Kingwood Native and former Panthers Varsity boys soccer player Derek Foster signs up. Head Coach of the Hurricanes FC Thiago Reis said today, “it’s great to finally have Derek Foster on board. This was a hard one to get done. Foster came out a couple of months ago for our Austin tryouts and impressed right away, everyone was excited about getting him on the team but he got a nasty injury in last game and we didn’t hear from him for a while. Club President Brendan Keyes kept taps on him to see how he was doing as we didn’t want this guy to get away. Brendan called me today to tell me the good news, we got him he said, I knew right away what that meant as I told him I wanted Foster on the team. Keyes kept calling his parents and finally persuaded them to get Foster on board. Foster said today “I always wanted to sign and play with the Hurricanes, it’s a dream come true, I was just a bit nervous after the injury to my foot and needed time to heal and get my confidence back. I hope to bring my game to the team and show I belong here and return the faith to Brendan and Thiago for believing in me.” Club President Keyes said it’s a big signing for the club, we want good characters on the team as well as good footballers and Foster fits the bill in both departments.
